Local Area Agreement Toolkit
The LAA toolkit has been produced by the SMP on behalf of the migrant worker steering group and aims to provide the organisations, multi-agency fora and other regional partnerships that support migrant workers, asylum seekers and refugees with a toolkit to assist in the process of developing Local Area Agreements that meet the needs of these new communities and the host communities that support them. It is not intended to be a prescriptive methodology but a template which may help to develop Local Area Agreements that respond positively to the opportunities and challenges created by the arrival of asylum seekers, refugees and migrant workers to our region.
Integration Guidelines for MAFs supporting Asylum Seekers and Refugees
We have produced an integration guide for multi-agency fora supporting asylum seekers and refugees. The guidelines are intended to provide guidance and a framework from which multi-agency fora working with asylum seekers and refugees can develop their own sub-regional integration strategies, and provides specific guidance and examples of good practice in relation to these groups around key integration themes.
Media guide
EERA Strategic Migration Partnership has produced a good practice guide to help local authority press officers and multi-agency representatives address asylum, refugee and migrant worker issues positively in the media.
Asylum and refugee glossary
The information in the glossary has been compiled from public sources and is intended as a background briefing for those interested in asylum and refugee issues in the
UK. This is a rapidly changing field and EERA is not responsible for any factual inaccuracies.
