Strategic Migration Partnership

The East of England Regional Assembly (EERA) Strategic Migration Partnership, formerly known as the EERA Consortium for Asylum and Refugee Integration (EERA-CARI), is one of eleven UK partnerships funded by the UK Border Agency (UKBA).

The Consortium was established in March 2000 - originally to co-ordinate activities regarding the dispersal, accommodation and support of asylum seekers across the region.

However since April 2007, our role has been expanded to incorporate the wider migration agenda and we work closely with the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) to support and develop regional migrant worker networks, support agencies and projects, as well as continue our work with asylum seekers and refugees.

Funding
EERA Strategic Migration Partnership receives an annual grant from the UK Border Agency (UKBA) for the operation of the enabling function as described above. Payment of the grant is dependent on the achievement of key performance indicators agreed between the EERA Strategic Migration Partnership and the UKBA. The Business Plan is the principle means by which EERA Strategic Migration Partnership reports to UKBA on expenditure of the Enabling Grant. The requirements of the Grant Agreement constitute a significant part of the Plan.
