Rural
The East of England region is diverse but is mainly rural in character. The region is made up of a large number of historic market towns and fewer large urban centres than other regions.
The southern parts of the region are influenced largely by their proximity to London, whilst in the north and east of the region there are extensive areas of sparsely populated countryside.
EERA works closely with other regional partners to promote the issues facing the rural areas of the region. These partners include GO-East, EEDA, Environment Agency, Natural England, the Forestry Commission and English Heritage.
The East of England Rural Forum is the main focal point for rural stakeholders.
